La figura umana è al centro dell’opera di Federico Guida, di cui ne recupera un tipo di rappresentazione mimetico che ha un forte legame con la tradizione figurativa e il grande naturalismo della pittura italiana fra Cinquecento e Seicento. L’esaltazione dei valori plastici e la ricerca della verità naturale. tramite un tocco morbido e sfumato ci parlano di questo forte legame il quale, tuttavia, non impedisce a Federica di essere calato nella modernità. Già a partire dai valori cromatici che sono più simbolici che naturali. Accompagna sempre le opere di Guida, inoltre, una certa complessità pittorica nella stesura, ricca di vibrazioni psicologiche ed esistenziali. Anche il taglio compositivo è contemporaneo, ispirato alle moderne tecniche della fotografia.
Federico Guida è nato nel 1969 a Milano, città in cui vive e lavora. Dipinge fin da piccolo, grazie alla passione trasmessagli dal nonno paesaggista e dal padre pubblicitario. Fin dall’inizio della sua carriera la produzione artistica di Guida si è concentrata sullo studio della figura umana. E’ stato definito un “neoseicentesco contemporaneo”. Tutto il suo lavoro è ispirato ad un recupero della pittura antica, soprattutto caravaggesca insieme all’ispirazione proveniente dalle tecniche fotografiche e di visual contemporaneo.

Federico Guida was born in 1969 in Milan, the city where he lives and works. He paints since he was a child, thanks to his passion transmitted to him by his grandfather as a landscape architect and his advertising father. Since the beginning of his career, Guida's artistic production has focused on the study of the human figure. It has been defined as a "contemporary neo-seventeenth-century". All of his work is inspired by a recovery of ancient painting, especially Caravaggesque, together with the inspiration coming from photographic techniques and contemporary visuals.
